ASTM D7220 – Determination of Sulfur in Automotive Fuels

gasoline

Sulfur concentrations are strictly regulated in automotive fuels. The United States EPA Tier 3 emission standards set a limit on sulfur content in gasoline to 10 parts per million. Removing sulfur at various fractions in the refinery process is expensive, especially as it relates to very low sulfur levels. Therefore, accurate and precise monitoring of these sulfur levels, often on levels below 10 ppm, is extremely cost-effective and results in immediate return on investment.
