In this whitepaper, we focus on helping scientists and lab manager build their understanding of ATR-FTIR.
It is no surprise that attenuated total reflectance – infrared spectroscopy (ATR-FTIR) is a non-invasive, non-altering, and non-destructive technique. ATR is highly specific and can be used for trace detection to 100 ppm. It is worth noting that the detection limits are always improved with the application of a quantification model. ATR-FTIR is also GLP, GMP, and GCP compliant, with the systems typically performing self-validating without the need for user intervention. ATR-FTIR is so common that most new databases are developed in ATR format, especially when the goal is analyzing unknowns or validating the knowns of homogenous materials.
