Understanding ATR FTIR

This webinar is all about the Attenuated Total Reflectance (ATR) FTIR technique, and how it offers powerful sample data for virtually any compound or material.

Attenuated total reflectance (ATR) FTIR is the one of the most commonly used analytical techniques. But despite its popularity in labs, the ATR-FTIR technique is often not well understood. ATR is widely used across a range of industries including pharmaceutical, polymers, materials engineering, and many others. Understanding the concept behind ATR is critically important when selecting the optimal ATR crystal and deciding how to best utilize the results.

This webinar will review how light interacts with the sample being analyzed, as well as factors affecting the resultant data. Examples will be presented demonstrating the benefits of ATR in comparison with other methods.

Key Webinar Take-aways:

  • Understand what ATR FTIR is, and how the technique works
  • Select the proper ATR accessory and crystal
  • Understand data collected via ATR and what processing methods are appropriate
  • Identify unknowns accurately
