Microplastics Analysis in Environmental Samples Using Pyrolysis-GC/MS

Learn how the pyrolysis gas-chromatography mass spectrometry technique can be used for analyzing microplastics in environmental samples.

Analytical methods for analyzing microplastics is an increasingly popular topic in the environmental industry. During this webinar, our presenters will explore the quantitative analysis of microplastics in environmental samples. They will provide background information on the pyrolysis gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (PY-GC/MS) technique and the complexities of analyzing microplastics.

Watch the webinar and learn about the relevance of microplastics as a pollutant, the analytical challenges it poses, how the PY-GC/MS can quantify microplastics for the most abundant polymers, selection of identifier ions and external calibration. The speakers will also cover how to prepare and concentrate samples of microplastics in environmental samples.

Key Webinar Takeaways:

  • Background information on Pyrolysis-GC/MS and microplastics
  • The relevance of microplastics as pollutants
  • Analytical challenges
  • Quantification of microplastics for most abundant polymers, selection of identifier ions and external calibration
  • Sample preparation and concentration of microplastics in environmental samples
