Let’s Talk Instrument Financing!

If you are building out a new laboratory or start-up, you need best-in-class analytical instrumentation that you can depend on. But as analytical instrumentation evolves and becomes more advanced and easier to use, making the capital equipment purchase can feel daunting.

For those looking for an alternative to a direct purchase, financing might be the best option for you. Flexible financing options including lab equipment leases can help you get the next generation of analytical instrumentation into your lab without the burden of a large capital purchase.

Quantum Analytics is able to create a financing or leasing program for any of the analytical instruments in our offering portfolio. If you are considering an Agilent GC, GC/MS, Mass Spec, LC, LC/MS or a Bruker benchtop XRF, XRD, FTIR, FTNIR, or Raman, get in touch with us first to find out what financing options are available to you.

What are the different ways to finance analytical instrumentation?

Depending on your credit history, instrument needs, and other factors, there are a number of ways to finance analytical instrumentation. The most popular programs we get asked about include:

  • 0% Interest Financing Over 12-Months
  • Rentals
  • Rentals-with-Equity
  • Capital Leases
  • Fair Market Value Leases
  • Technology Refreshes
  • Financing for Refurbished/Pre-Owned Instruments

Let’s go through these programs one-by-one…

0% Interest Financing Over 12 Months

Once you have selected the analytical instrumentation you need, let us create a 12-month payment plan. With a 0% interest over 12-month plan, you can spread the cost of the asset evenly over 12 payments without interest. This is an excellent flexible financing program when large upfront capital expenditures are difficult to push through an organization.

Rentals and Rentals-with-Equity

There are a number of business cases for renting an instrument. Some of our customers choose a rental program as a way to handle an increase in demand for testing services. The duration of a rental program can be customized as well. Short-term rentals can last anywhere from a few days to several months.

Before buying a new instrument or replacing an existing one, many labs like to rent an analytical instrument before making their capital purchase. A lab might do this when their current instrument is in disrepair or is out of date.

For those looking to try-before-they-buy, a rentals-with-equity program is the way to go. In a rental-with-equity financing program, a set portion of the monthly rental payment goes towards purchasing the instrument at the end of the term (like building equity).

Capital Leases

Capital leases are a great way to maximize your available capital. Many laboratory start-ups choose a capital lease as a way to get the instrumentation they need without the high upfront costs. At the end of the lease, you have the option to purchase the analytical instrument for a nominal fee – typically a $1 buy-out.

Fair Market Value Leases

If ownership of the analytical instrument is not the end goal, then a fair market value lease is a great option. With fair market value leases (FMV leases), you make monthly lease payments for a set term (2 to 3 years in most cases). At the end of the lease term, you have the option to return the instrument, switch it to the latest and greatest model, or purchase the asset at its fair market value.

Technology Refresh Program

A popular program for cutting edge laboratories, a Technology Refresh Financing Program is a great way to ensure your lab always has the latest and greatest instruments. If your lab struggles with obsolete or outdated instrumentation, these can cost you time (downtime) and money (repair costs, and loss of productivity).

Working with the latest generation instrumentation means that your team benefits from faster testing, streamlined workflows, better analytics, and more confidence in your results. With our technology refresh program, you enjoy fixed monthly payments that work for your budgetary needs.

Financing Refurbished and Pre-Owned Instruments

For unbeatable savings, don’t forget to ask about our current inventory or refurbished and pre-owned analytical instrumentation.
