Program Overview
Learn maintenance, troubleshooting and data analysis using a mass spec detector and the Agilent MassHunter software. This training program can be tailored to users who understand gas chromatography, but are new to mass spectrometry or users who can run the GC/MS but are seeking training to learn mass spectral analysis in greater depth. Entry-level trainees will learn the basics of GC/MS before building up to maintenance, use, and data analysis. Experienced users can extend their existing GC/MS knowledge to focus more on qualitative and quantitative data analysis using Agilent MassHunter software.
Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry Theory and Overview
How does the detector work, what are the ways of filtering masses and how to obtain mass spectral data.
Data Acquisition
Creating acquisition methods, setting methods, and running samples.
Maintenance
Cleaning the MS source, maintaining the pump, venting, pumping down, tuning, checking leaks and best practices.
Data Analysis
Qualitative and quantitative data analysis using MassHunter.
Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting leaks and other common errors.
More Information
Our gas chromatography mass spectrometry training program enables users to expand their gas chromatography know-how to the area of mass spectrometry. We’ll provide a comprehensive overview of detectors, the different ways of filtering masses, and how to obtain mass spectral data. Build your understanding of data acquisition, including how to create acquisition methods, setting methods and running samples. Learn maintenance procedures, including cleaning the MS source, maintaining the pump, venting, pumping down, tuning, checking leaks and other recommended best practices. Trainees will also develop their qualitative and quantitative data analysis skills using the Agilent MassHunter software. Throughout our gas chromatography mass spectrometry training program, we will highlight how to troubleshoot leaks and other common errors so your team is prepared with whatever comes their way in the lab.
